Free 4th of July Embroidery Pattern
This year marks 250 years since America’s founding in 1776, and what better way to celebrate than with a needle and thread? I’ve created a free embroidery pattern featuring a classic circular emblem with stars, banners, and the words “In God We Trust” — a timeless tribute to our nation’s heritage.
Pattern Inspiration
The design centers around the number 250, framed by stars and a bold banner reading AMERICA. It’s simple yet powerful — perfect for stitching onto a kitchen towel, tote bag, or framed hoop to display proudly during your Independence Day festivities.

DMC Color Suggestions
Bright & Bold Palette
For those who love vivid, celebratory hues:
- DMC 321 – Bright Red
- DMC 3843 – Electric Blue
- DMC 444 – Vibrant Yellow
- DMC 820 – Royal Navy
- DMC Blanc – Crisp White for contrast
Soft & Subtle Palette
For a more vintage or understated look:
- DMC 931 – Medium Blue Gray
- DMC 3722 – Soft Rosewood
- DMC 3045 – Muted Golden Brown
- DMC 3023 – Warm Gray Green
- DMC 3865 – Winter White
Both palettes pair beautifully with the clean lines of the design — one radiates fireworks and celebration, the other whispers heritage and grace.
Stitch Ideas
Try backstitch for the lettering and satin stitch for the stars and banner edges. A touch of French knots in the stars adds texture and charm.
