I’m excited to share the 2nd quilt block with you! May’s hand embroidery quilt block is full of flowers, roses, and other fantasy flowers that were drawn. Have any of you stitched April’s hand embroidery quilt block yet? I’d love to see your progress, tag me on Instagram @nanabumlebee_embroidery and show off your work!
If you find value in these free patterns, I hope you will share the link to the patterns in your local embroidery groups, on Pinterest, etc.
To get the free pattern you will need to subscribe to my mail list (I don’t spam! I send out minimal emails, promise!) to get the password to unlock the PDF pattern below.
What can you do with these free quilt blocks?
These patterns are great for creating a variety of items. You can make beautiful quilts, and carry-all tote bags, display them in frames, turn them into decorative throw pillows, or even add a unique touch to denim jackets or shirts by using individual patterns. There are so many possibilities!

What supplies are needed to get started?
- Needles
- Fabric (save yourself some time and get the pre-cut!)
- Hoop
- Printer
- Fabric transfer pens (I love these!)
- A sunny window or light box
- DMC floss (I don’t include color suggestions with this pattern)
- Scissors
The pattern is 7.5 inches by 7.5 inches so you will need a piece of fabric big enough to accommodate the pattern. I would suggest that if you intend to use it as a throw pillow or sew it into a quilt, that you allow extra fabric for seams. I’m going to stitch my blocks onto fabric that is at least 10×10 inches, and a 12-inch square would be better.
