Life Got Pretty Crazy

It’s been a long time since I wrote a blog so I thought I’d at least start by updating you with photos of how my little pineapple did.
When it comes to growing pineapples, I am a beginner so if you’re looking for some awesome tips, this isn’t the place. I’m just here to tell you that growing your own pineapples is so awesome to have in your house. The smell is amazing!
I read that the pineapple was supposed to take 6 months to grow but mine was done in 5 months.

One of the things I learned was that there’s a period in the growing process that scares the living daylights out of anyone with a normally green thumb…
At about the 3-4 month mark, my pineapple went from a healthy-looking shade of green to black. The leaves also drooped and I was sure that my beloved pineapple was a goner.
No sooner had it turned black and the leaves started drooping, than the baby pineapple started turning a little bit yellow. I wasn’t sure what to make of the yellow. Was it dying?
Well, the pineapple didn’t fall off the plant or look unhealthy in any other way, though the leaves were still drooped.
Then finally, the confirmation that I needed…

the pineapple turned a beautiful shade of golden yellow.
One smell of the plant and there was no mistaking, my pineapple was not only healthy, it smelled just like the golden yellow pineapples in the store.
So 5 months from discovering the tiny pineapple, my fruit was on the table.
How did it taste? Amazing!Â
Now I have to figure out what to do with the leftover plant after the pineapple was cut. After I cut the pineapple, the leaves stopped drooping and it looks pretty healthy. I know that it’ll die because that’s what they’re supposed to do but I’m half tempted to let it go and watch the dying process just to familiarize myself with pineapples.
What did I do with the top of the pineapple that I just grew? I stuck it in the windowsill in some water until I could get to the store to get some dirt. I’m going to start the whole process over again.
